Ancestor Dinner (Potluck)
Description
You are invited: for BareBones staff and volunteers
Please come! 🥰 BareBones’ Ancestor Potluck is an event series organized by Mina Leierwood. The first one was held last year, March 11, 2023 and was a great success. There were so many wonderful stories shared. Some included the history and origins of various MPLS’ arts and activist communities.
Bring a potluck dish (vegetarian encouraged) and an ancestor story to share. This can be blood ancestors or ancestors by choice, and some written notes are recommended—partly because it makes presenting easier and partly for your own archive! Per Mina, “I reread my grandmother’s beautifully written notes about her mother and father every year!”
Coming to listen is also encouraged. No pressure to share this month as we hope to schedule these dinners once quarter or more often. We can get better at storytelling AND learn about each other!
