Description

BareBones Productions is seeking to hire one Volunteer Coordinator for the 2022 Halloween Extravaganza who will work individually and collaboratively with Barebones Directors/Facilitators, Barebones staff, community volunteers, and the production team through the months of September and October 2022. The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, managing and communicating with the Barebones volunteer community during the creation of 3-4 public performances/rituals related to grief, death, ancestors, loss, remembering to be performed October 28-31 on the Midtown Greenway between 10th Avenue and 11th Avenue.

Qualifications or Requirements

  • Experience and excellent skills in the area of volunteer management in the arts or non-profit environments
  • Knowledge and experience creating, managing and sharing Google Docs and Drive for communication and organizational purposes
  • Ability to create, merge and manage spreadsheets for communication.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership and communication skills
  • Experience and strong ability to collaborate effectively and compassionately with a wide variety of community members, including folks of various ages, races, cultures, genders, family structures, abilities, spiritual beliefs, and who speak a variety of languages
  • Willingness to learn, self-reflect, and grow in the areas of equity, inclusion, and anti-bias
  • Adaptability and flexibility

Responsibilities Include

  • Support volunteer community members to grow as artists/performers and expand their artistic confidence and skill sets
  • Collaborate with all relevant Barebones staff to determine volunteer needs for performances and builds
  • Collaborate with Communications Director to recruit volunteers from existing database, and to market and recruit new volunteers
  • Build and maintain volunteer database
  • Relay all necessary communication between relevant Barebones staff and volunteers
  • Ensure that all volunteers are aware of BareBones community standards and code of conduct
  • Work/attend all required build events, rehearsals, and meetings as scheduled by Barbones staff (dates TBD)
  • Work/attend all (3-4) performances (October 28-31)
  • Participate in 4 educational workshops provided to the community by Barebones
  • Prioritize physical and emotional safety of every participant, including Covid precautions
  • Participate in final wrap-up survey
  • As this is a temporary, independent contractor position, candidates are required to have their own access to materials and technologies necessary for the job
