Description
BareBones Productions is seeking to hire a Site Manager Apprentice for the 2025 Halloween Extravaganza who will work individually and collaboratively with the BareBones Site Manager from the end of August, through September and October, and into the beginning of November 2025. The Site Manager Apprentice will learn directly from the Site Manager in creating a public performance/ritual related to grief, death, ancestors, loss, and remembering, to be performed over 4 nights. Performances will be located in Powderhorn Park at 3400 15th Avenue South. This position has an expectation of working with BareBones Site Manager and Production for future productions.
Qualifications or Requirements
- Experience or strong interest in the area of technical and outdoor theater production leadership
- Ability to use tools and equipment to develop, create, and install needed infrastructure for a large-scale, outdoor theater production
- Experience teaching, guiding, supporting, and managing a wide variety of community members, including folks of various ages, races, cultures, genders, family structures, abilities, spiritual beliefs, and who speak a variety of languages
- Willingness to learn, self-reflect, and grow in the areas of equity, inclusion, and anti-bias
Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills - Adaptability and flexibility
Must Work/Attend
- BareBones Buildup 2025 (Tuesday August 19 6-9:30) Collaborate with the 2025 team to create protocols to address interpersonal dynamics, safety, workload fairness, communication, and organization.
- Build Site move in September 9th
- Rehearsals and additional meetings as scheduled by the Co-Directors, Artistic Team, and Production Team, per protocols developed at BareBones Buildup 2025.
- Tech week will be October 26-29. Site Manager Apprentice will need to be on site approximately 2pm -11pm.
- Four performances, to be held on October 30, 31, November 1, and 2, 2025. The rain date will be November 3, if a performance is canceled due to the weather.

Responsibilities Include
- Assist with and learn in detail the responsibilities, skills, and knowledge of the Site Manager.
- Develop heightened knowledge in the area of technical and outdoor theater production and the needs of the BareBones production team by working closely with the long-time BareBones Site Manager.
- Collaborate with the Site Manager, Co-Production Managers, and Front of House Manager to acquire, create, set-up, take-down, and store all site infrastructure, including: porta potties, electricity, fencing, gate, accessibility, seating, sound, lighting, communication with the neighborhood etc.
- Document in a google Doc or sheet all responsibilities, tasks and processes of the Site Management position, including outside resources, timeline, needed materials and supplies, and all other factors related to site management.
- Prioritize the physical and emotional safety of every participant.
- Participate in digital communication (email, text, phone) promptly.
- Participate in a variety of clean-up activities and final wrap-up survey after November 3, 2025.
- As this is a temporary, independent contractor position, candidates are required to have access to materials and technologies necessary for the job.

Compensation
- $500
- BareBones Buildup attendance $50
- Snacks or Meals at most meetings, builds, rehearsals
- Access to request small funds for basic needs if needed to fully participate in BareBones duties
