BareBones Productions is seeking to hire two dynamic Co-Producers, applying separately or together, to lead production for the 2026 Halloween Extravaganza. The Co-Producers will work individually and collaboratively with Co-Directors, artistic/production staff, and volunteer community members August through mid November. We are looking for a producer who can manage the logistics, budgeting, and coordination of outdoor puppet productions. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in non-traditional performance spaces, navigating the unique challenges of outdoor theater, and supporting artists throughout the creative process. The annual Extravaganza is a public performance/ritual related to grief, death, ancestors, loss, and remembering, and is performed over 4 nights including Halloween. Audience sizes range from 1000-3000 people each night. Performances will be located in Powderhorn Park at 3400 15th Avenue South.

Qualifications or Requirements
- Experience producing theater, and/or large outdoor events
- Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and artist collaborations
- Experience collaborating with a wide variety of community members, including folks of various ages, races, cultures, genders, family structures, abilities, spiritual beliefs, and who speak a variety of languages
- Willingness to learn, self-reflect, and grow in the areas of equity, inclusion, and anti-bias.
- Adaptability, flexibility, and strong time management skills
- Strong of organizational and communication skills
- Strong technology skills, including knowledge and experience creating, managing and sharing Google Docs and using a variety of applications for community intercommunication (Google calendar, Slack and others)
- Ability to work under pressure, and a sharp eye for detail
- Passion for puppetry and experimental theater
- Problem-solving skills, ability to think on one’s feet
- Negotiation skills, confidence and decision-making abilities
Responsibilities Include
- Oversee production logistics for outdoor puppet performances
- Coordinate with directors, designers, performers, and venue partners
- Manage budgets and funding deadlines
- Facilitate community outreach and audience development efforts
- Procure all necessary permits from the city
- Work with city licensing departments to oversee permitting
- Attendance and note taking at production team meetings
- Act as a community resource for property owners/allies regarding permitting and insurance as needed
- Maintain contact lists for all internal and external personnel and contacts, to include extraction of and requests for contact information from emails, meetings, phone calls and other communications
- Maintain Google calendar with all production related dates
- Facilitate staff communication
- Participate in making show cancellation decisions as needed (for weather, etc.), collaboratively with all invested parties
- Prioritize physical and emotional safety of every participant, including Covid precautions
- Participate in final wrap-up survey
- As this is a temporary, independent contractor position, candidates are required to have their own access to materials and technologies necessary for the job.
Must Work / Attend
- Much of the work will happen on your own time, to be scheduled at your discretion.
- August 19: orientation meeting (aka “BareBones Buildup”)
- August - October: weekly production meetings
- October: Four educational workshops provided to the community by the BareBones Board, typically held during rehearsals
- October 24 - 28: Tech week, work three out of five of these evenings from 4:00pm to 10:00pm, but need to keep all of these evenings available.
- Oct. 29, 30 and 31, Nov. 1, and a rain date of Nov. 2: performances
