Call for Part-Time Arts Administrator

Description

This position supports the year-round operations of BareBones Puppet Theater. It is the only year-round paid position within the organization, a Minneapolis-based 501(c)(3) performing arts non-profit. BareBones operates as a collective of visual and performing artists to produce spectacle performances, generally involving stilting, bicycles, and great, big puppets. Hours per month fluctuate, and the “busy” months are June through November, when hours range from 10-25 per month. In December through May, hours are typically around 5 per month. Compensation is $22.00-$28.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Qualifications or Requirements

  • Previous experience in arts administration
  • Strong communication skills, high attention to detail, flexibility, adaptability
  • Ability to continuously streamline and improve systems and tools used to support organizational functions
  • Ability to explore and embrace new technology trends, platforms, and marketing tools to keep
  • BareBones functioning effectively and efficiently
  • Excellent self-direction and ability to self-motivate
  • Interest in community art, puppetry, outdoor visual & performing art
  • Fluent in G-Suite applications, social media management, email database management
  • Ability to work professionally with a diverse group of board members, artists, and volunteers
  • Bring an attitude of fun, joy, and gratitude to your work

Responsibilities Include

  • Attend & provide reports at monthly board meetings
  • Maintain budget for administrative costs
  • Maintain BareBones G Suite accounts, groups, backups, drive structure, permissions
  • Respond to communications from the public (outside of show season)
  • Maintain storage/backup of all digital assets – images, video, and other documentation
  • Manage social media outside of show season (when there is a Publicity Coordinator)
  • Manage Email via Mailchimp
  • Assist the hiring committee, manage seasonal contracts, onboard seasonal hires
  • Manage online ticket sales for Annual Extravaganza via an online ticketing system
  • Attend production meetings and provide support to the production team during show season
  • Potentially identify a CRM system where all contacts/customers can be managed in one place
  • Manage internal communications outside of the show season
  • Work with the grants and fundraising committee to manage timelines and gather content
  • Work with the Web Administrator to add/update content on the BareBones website
