Residency at TCHDC Liberty Plaza

BareBones, in collaboration with Concordia University, facilitated a two-week visual and performing arts residency at the Liberty Plaza apartments of the Twin Cities Housing Development Corporation. Participants from ages 5 – 14 created Vietnamese water puppets and papier-mache masks, and learned puppeteering and stilting for a walking parade and water puppet show that was held before an audience of family and neighbors.

BareBones Productions, in collaboration with Campfire USA, recently completed a two-week visual and performing arts residency at the Calibre Ridge apartments of the Twin Cities Housing Development Corporation (TCHDC). The residency was held from June 14th – 25th, 2010. This was the 10th year that BareBones was contracted for this residency.

JoAnn Blohowiak

JoAnn is a South Minneapolis resident, artist, and graphic designer. She has created the BareBones tabloid for several years, and has played her trumpet with the BareBones Music Ensemble at the Halloween Extravaganza.

Rah Kojis

Rah Kojis is the founder and director of Inflammati Fire Circus, and has worked as the BareBones Halloween Fire Section Designer for several years.

Rachel Nelson

Rachel is a writer and performer, from the Cascade Mountains in Oregon. She has worked as Production Manager for the Barebones Halloween Extravaganza. Although she doesn’t have much experience with puppets, stilting, or fire, Rachel has lots of experience with communication, talking it out, and making it happen.

Christopher Allen

Christopher Allen is a Twin Cities born actor, community arts teacher, printmaker, and set builder. Christopher has performed in and built for Barebones Annual Halloween Show since 2006. He was co-director of Barebones Halloween 2009.

Lelis Brito

Lelis Brito is a Venezuelan-American director, choreographer, performer and educator of movement-theater who has worked for national and international venues for over 25 years. Lelis performed in Fleeced in 2008, and was co-director of Devoured in 2009.

Soozin Hirschmugl

In 2004 Soozin returned from Vermont to continue to develop her own work and to nurture her relationship with BareBones Productions, a group she helped found sixteen years ago. She has co-directed, designed, and performed in various BareBones productions.
