2026 Co-Director Maren Ward has been performing, directing and theater-making in the Twin Cities for over three decades.  She is drawn to create and participate in theater that is community-driven, celebratory, absurd, chaotic, spectacle, magic.  Since 2004, she has directed the zAmya Theater Project which uses the powerful combination of lived experiences and artistic expression to inspire housing justice. As a performer she’s been seen frequently at  Open Eye Figure Theater, Sod House Theater and other ensembles. She co-founded and held an artistic leadership role at Bedlam Theatre, a radical community theater in Minneapolis 1993-2016. She was a co-director of BareBones Halloween Shows 1998-2007 and 2013. You might have seen her as Chad, or was it Chip?, in Up In Smoke, last year’s pre-show.
